ALOHA. Yes, it was a Luau in April for the Young at Heart! They had a wonderful time enjoying the island sounds of Edyson Dayao while enjoying pork chops, mashed potatoes and vegetable medley catered from Don Monaco’s in Oak Forest. The homemade desserts were plentiful and added to the island ambiance. ALOHA.

Young at Heart – March Luncheon
The Young at Heart March Luncheon was a HUGE success with their celebration of Saint Patrick’s Day and the Tinley Park High School Jazz band. Young and old alike enjoyed the lively music and delicious Corned Beef or Beef Stew dinner.
Next meeting is Tuesday, April 9 featuring a Hawaiian Luau with pork chops and all the fixins. Come join us as we sail to a tropical paradise!

Our next parish restaurant fundraiser will be held on Wednesdayu, March 13 from 11:00am to 10:00pm at Lou Malnati’s Pizzeria located at 9501 W 171st Street in Tinley Park. Lou Malnati’s will donate 20% of your entire purchase back to the parish. You must mention this fundraising event at the time of purchase. This location only – delivery or carry out.

The first meeting of Irishmen on American soil to honor St. Patrick took place in Boston on March 17th, 1737. The first St. Patrick’s Day parade was held in New York in 1762. Curiously enough, before marching caught on, St. Patrick’s Day was celebrated with huge breakfasts, held around 2pm in local taverns.
