To prepare for Corpus Christi Sunday on June 6, the great feast celebrating the Most Precious Body and Blood of Christ, there will be 24 Hours of Eucharistic Adoration before the Blessed Sacrament. Following is the schedule for Communal Prayer during this time:
June 4th
8:45am – Rosary

7:45am – Benediction

At least two Adorers must be scheduled during every hour in order to assure that Jesus is not left alone, but more are welcome and Adorers may sign up for multiple hours. Please click on the button below to fill the needed spots:
(Once these spots are filled, additional Adorers are welcome without advance signup.)
For those who do not have access to the internet, you can sign up by contacting the Parish Office at 708.429.6767 or Gail Sladek at [email protected]. For security purposes, only those signed up for nighttime hours between 9:00pm on Friday and 7:00am on Saturday will be admitted into the Chapel during that time. Walk-ins are again welcome for the 8:00am 1st Saturday Mass.
What is Eucharistic Adoration?
A consecrated Host is placed in the monstrance, a very beautiful vessel that stands on the Altar or can be held during processions. Gaze upon the Eucharist. Spend a quiet hour with the Lord in prayer, adoration and contemplation. Or, join with others to pray the Rosary, Divine Mercy Chaplet, Morning Prayer, Evening Prayer or Night Prayer. The opportunity for individual Confession is offered. For those new to Eucharistic Adoration, prayer aids are provided to help you get started. Adoration is for individuals, couples, and families — everyone!
We adore and receive the Eucharist in communion at Mass, which is the most beautiful act of worship that we have as Catholics. We have Jesus truly present in all of the tabernacles around the world. We can continue to adore Him in the Eucharist after Mass in a quiet time of prayer and contemplation on Who we have just received . Being in the presence of the body, blood, soul and divinity of Jesus Christ gives spiritual strength and nourishment in a uniquely powerful way. Adoration is a way to be present with the Lord and focus on actively listening to His word through prayer.
~ Oblates of the Virgin Mary
From 9:00am to 11:00am, volunteers will be collecting both nonperishable AND perishable food items on the West side of the church, by the office entrance. The food will be given to our local food pantries. Thank you for your generosity!

Thank you for your interest in registering to attend Mass at St. Julie:
Please note that by registering for Mass, you are agreeing to the guidelines that have been set forth by the state and the Archdiocese of Chicago. If, for some reason, you do not feel you can adhere to these requirements, please know that the dispensation from attending Mass in person is still in effect and you can instead join us on our livestream at 9:30am each Sunday morning. Our team of volunteers are offering their time to assist us in maintaining the safest possible worship environment. We appreciate your cooperation!
Reservations are required. The signup link will be included in a parishwide email and become active on this website on Friday. Or, if you do not have internet access, you can call Sheila/Deacon Ed at 708.429.6767 x232 to reserve your spot. (You will not receive a callback unless there is an issue.)
With regard to our weekly collection, we appreciate your continued donations online. A collection box will be placed at the door as you enter church if you wish to use an envelope.
Safety Guidelines
These safety precautions should be observed at all times:
- If you are not feeling well, we ask that you stay home as a precaution.
- Masks are a must for everyone’s safety. They must be worn properly over the nose and mouth.
- Households may sit together but should be six feet from the next person. Households are defined as those who live together every day. Extended family and friends who do not live with you must safety distance (6 ft.) themselves from you while in our worship space.
- Pews that are marked by blue tape may be used.
- Please plan on arriving no sooner than 30 minutes and no later than the start of Mass; this will allow us time to ensure all preparation is completed. This will also allow our volunteers to fully participate in the Mass.
- If you have attended large gatherings in the last week where safety precautions have not been taken, we ask that you take a week off from Mass in person and participate via Facebook or our parish website.
- For those who are not able to sign up via internet, please contact Sheila at 708.429.6767 x232. Leave your name, phone number and the Mass you would like to attend. We will only call back if there is an issue with your reservation.
We appreciate your help in keeping everyone safe and healthy. Our goal is to be able to continue celebrating Mass in person. Everyone working together will go a long way!
We Love Volunteers!
We cannot do without our wonderful volunteers and also don’t feel it’s right to ask the same people to serve at multiple masses each weekend. Can you help? ALL AGES ARE WELCOME!

Congratulations to the students in our Faith Formation program who received their First Communion on Saturday, May 1, 2021. We pray that, together with their families, they will be nourished at the table of the Lord throughout their lives.

At the beginning of the pandemic when we were unable to gather in church to worship in person, St. Julie Parish initiated a “Praying Hands” project. Parishioners were invited to write their prayer intentions on hand-shaped cutouts and drop them off at the parish office. These were then taped onto the pews in church, clearly visible as a sign of hope to those watching the livestreamed Masses from home.
Now, in a spirit of thanks to God for His goodness as we begin to return to full and active ministry, we are initiating a “Grateful Hearts” project. We invite you to participate! There are two ways to do it:
- Take a picture of yourself or your loved ones by the “Grateful Hearts” display in the narthex, and email the picture to Barb Theis at [email protected], or
- Cut out a paper heart and write down a message of thanks to someone, a prayer intention, or a miracle you have received. Then, drop it off at the Parish Office.
We’ll post your pictures and paper hearts on our narthex heart display. Here are some of the pictures we have received so far:
St. Giana Beretta Molla once said,
“The secret of happiness is to live moment by moment and to thank God
for what He is sending us every day in His goodness.”
We are experiencing that happiness at St. Julie Parish,
as we open more fully for Masses, liturgical events, community building activities, and ministries.
In the words of St. John Paul II,
we “remember the past with gratitude, live the present with enthusiasm,
look forward to the future with confidence.”

We are so pleased to announce that our new church livestream system has been installed and tested, and is now up and running! The system includes three mounted cameras that are able to capture a much wider range of activity in our worship space than was previously possible, including close-up shots and smooth transitions between cameras to enhance the prayer experience of those worshipping with us online. The new system works effectively with our existing church sound system to produce quality audio. A small storage room near the Ambry now serves as the new media room, where our ‘livestreamer’ controls the system.
Thanks to those who made this possible!
We owe a debt of gratitude to the generous and dedicated individuals who donated either the funds needed or their time and expertise. The cost of the project was covered entirely by donations earmarked for this purpose, so it did not cause the parish to incur additional expense. Thank you to our generous donors! The technical knowledge needed to design and implement a system that would work well in our unique worship space was provided by a few members of our St. Julie Media Team. Special mention goes to Bill Sherman and Ken Shaw, who worked tirelessly in providing the hours and technical know-how needed for the project. With the help of our own Fr. Ton and Deacon Ed, installation of the new livestream system was done entirely in-house. With the system now in place, Bill and Ken have moved into the role of operating the livestream controls each weekend. Thank you everyone!
Are you interested in learning how to livestream? We need your help!
The parish is now actively recruiting additional volunteer livestreamers, to be trained by Bill and Ken. Once trained, volunteers will be scheduled to livestream in teams of two. Scheduling will, of course, work around the availability of our volunteers. Currently, the 9:30am Sunday Mass will be livestreamed each week using the new equipment, as well as special events such as Confirmation or First Communion. As additional volunteers are trained, it will be possible to further expand our livestream outreach.
Please contact Barb Theis at [email protected] or 708.429.6767 x 231 for more information.
