The web site is optimized for use with Internet Explorer (IE) Version 5 (and later) as the standard user web browser. We do this because IE is the most robust and universal browser available and to try to build the web site to  work perfectly on all available browsers would limit it's functionality and appearance as well as make upkeep an undue burden on the volunteer web team members.

Another popular browser is Netscape Navigator. Earlier versions of this product will not display colors properly. For instance, ... on several of our pages, for esthetic reasons, we use a dark background color with white or light colored text. Early versions of Netscape will not display the background color and the light text may not be visible against the "parchment" that you see on this page.

Even with the latest version of Netscape, however, there are things that you will miss on the web site. There are features that simply will not show up. An example is the music that many of our viewers have said they love.

The AOL browser comes with AOL internet service and has it's own limitations and features.

This "Printer Friendly" format (PDF) is used on this web site to facilitate the conversion of materials provided to us for web use. It is also used to make it convenient for the visitors to print forms and other information.

Pop-Up Stoppers

If you click on a link and the expected page is not displayed you may be over protecting your self. Do you use a "Pop-Up Stopper"? 

Some of our pages, forms and all of the links to outside web sites are set to open in a "New Window". In other words, they open in a second session of your browser software. We have designed this feature into this web site to insure that you will not have a difficult time finding your way back to the originating page on this web site. 

Unfortunately, "Pop-Up's" function in exactly the same way and "Pop-Up Stoppers" restrict your computer to only one open browser session. Most, however have a feature which allows you to shut off the action for specific "safe" web sites. The St. Julie web site is a site which is not only safe from advertising pop-ups but requires you to be able to have multiple browser windows open.
