 The Crafty Painters
 

A short story with a message. A parable of our modern world.

 

 

Two painters were hired to paint a church. They decided to dilute the paint and pocket the difference.

As they finished each side, they added water, stirred like crazy, and proceeded. As the paint ran out, they added more and more water.

Just as they finished, it began to rain, and they watched in horror as the diluted paint was washed off.

They fell to their knees crying, “Why, God, why? After all our work, why does this have to happen to us?

A voice from above said, “Repaint and thin no more.”
