The Lives of the Saints, was the theme of our recent PLANOVATION 3 Retreat!

 St. Julie Parish is wonderfully blessed to have a very dedicated and creative team of Young Adult Retreat Facilitators. They range in age from 20 to 24. College students to Seminarian to the Working World. They are all energetic, kind, compassionate, giving, and faith-filled men and women.

They literally started planning a year ago when last year’s retreat ended. When Fall came, they really hit their stride with meetings and emails going back and forth. For an entire weekend Sts. Francis of Assisi, Catherine of Siena, Elizabeth Seton, Augustine, Therese of Avila, Michael the Archangel, Thomas the Disciple and Blessed Mother Theresa all came alive for 42 teens in some very active and imaginative ways. 

One of the “perks” of my ministry is to be able to watch this weekend as it unfolds each year. To witness the interaction between these young adults and the teens is a remarkable experience. To think that anyone would give up so much time and energy to plan a retreat in the first place and then to spend a weekend sharing their faith with a group of 42 teenagers, all for no pay, it’s just beyond amazing. They don’t think so. They feel they are called to share their faith in this way and so they do. Planovation 3 was awesome!
