Witness to Faith

Reflections from Cass Lake, 2007…………………

Being my first mission trip since I became part of TNT, I think Minnesota had one of the biggest impacts on me. I learned so much about myself, others, and God over one week. I thought it was interesting being on the trip with another church, especially one of a different denomination. The leaders taught me that the difference doesn’t matter, because we were all there to celebrate the glory of God. I really enjoyed Kid’s Klub, because it gave me an opportunity to just have a fun day with kids who really don’t have a lot of fun to look forward to. I really missed all the kids after we left. I hope I made some impact on their lives because I know that they made a big one on mine.

Painting rooms in the Boys and Girls Club was also a cool experience. Even though no one may have noticed us while we were painting them, somewhere along the path someone will notice it and appreciate it.

Painting and gardening at another lady’s house was really nice too. When we were done, it was nice to see her come out and talk to us for a little bit. She didn’t say it directly, but I could tell that she appreciated our help completely. She gave us all “God’s Eyes”, and told us that wherever they are, God was watching. The worksites and Kids’ Klub weren’t the only things that impacted me, however. The Youthworks leaders taught me a lot also through the daily reflections and club time. It’s weird because for some reason, I now sing at church. I consider this kind of big because I never really sang much before. I really believe that I became closer to God on this trip, and I look forward to more mission trips.
