Our Lady's Prayerline

St. Julie's own beloved Margaret Amann* began the Scriptural Rosary after the weekday Mass. At that time about six women prayed together. With the passing of time and prayer, the number increased to approximately twelve in 1985. As the group became more structured, the ministry became known as "Our Lady's Prayerline."

These ministers serve as intercessors of prayer. They pray the Rosary for the intentions of all members of the Catholic Church and the welfare of all mankind. Special prayer petitions are written and placed in the chapel "vase" requested by parishioners and Prayerline members.

Since these folks have special devotions to Our Lady, they also have special devotions to her Son in the Eucharist. On First Fridays, they pray devotional prayers to the Sacred Heart of Jesus and Rosary before the Blessed Sacrament. On First Saturdays, they pray devotions in reparation to the Immaculate Heart of Mary and Rosary.

For well over twelve years now, about six members pray the Rosary with a group of residents at Tinley Court for Seniors. The rosary is prayed at St. Julie six days a week, Monday thru Saturday after the morning  Mass. Everyone is welcome anytime.

*Margaret Amann, a devoted parishioner at St Julie parish, wrote poetry as well as being involved in ministry. She was born to Eternal Life on 11/25/88. The meeting room in the rectory was named in her honor.
