SECOND READING - We listen to God's word from the New Testament, usually one of the Letters ("The word of the Lord. ... Thanks be to God.") 

GOSPEL ACCLAMATION - We sing praise to God ("Alleluia!") 

GOSPEL - ("May the word of God be in our mind, on our lips, and in our hearts")
We listen to God's word from the Gospels that proclaim Jesus' life and teachings ("The Gospel of the Lord. ... Praise to You, Lord, Jesus Christ.") 

HOMILY - The priest or deacon helps us to understand our lives through the Scripture readings. 

PROFESSION OF FAITH - We recite the Creed, a prayer that expresses what we believe as Catholics ("We believe in one God..." )

GENERAL INTERCESSIONS - We pray for the Church, our country, our special needs and for all God's people ("We pray to the Lord. ... Lord, hear our prayer.")
