Human Concerns

Our first duty as Catholics is to support our parish, diocese and the church as a worldwide entity. Beyond this normal support there are many opportunities for us share our many gifts with those less fortunate.

There are Mission Sundays at which a mission organization is invited to our parish to tell us about their work and give us the opertunity to support them.

There are many other Catholic Missions worthy of our support. They assist many in need as they propagate the Catholic faith around the globe.

Catholic Relief Services was founded in 1943 by the Catholic Bishops of the United States. Our mission is to assist the poor and disadvantaged, leveraging the teachings of the Gospel of Jesus Christ to alleviate human suffering, promote development of all people, and to foster charity and justice throughout the world.

There are many other worthwhile Charities addressing the needs of the community and the world. It is imposable to list them all here. Our parish Human Concerns Ministries and the Youth Ministries are actively supporting several local organizations.

You are also invited to consider Stewardship as a way to share the gifts of God in your life. Remember that sharing your time and talent is also a work of charity.
