About the Web Ministry

The St Julie Billiart Web Site has been designed and is maintained by parishioners who donate their time and talents in the commission of the mission of the Web Ministry under the auspices of the Community Life Board of the parish. 

No commercial web master is employed in its design or operation. There is no commercial cost to the parish for Web Master services. 

Parishioners who are blessed with a curiosity regarding the internet and a desire to share their time and talents in the spirit of stewardship of God's gifts are welcome to join this ministry. 

Requirements include:

• Possession of a home computer with an internet connection. 

• Good computer skills

• A willingness to learn

• Ownership or willingness to purchase:
  . Microsoft Word
  . FrontPage (or equivalent)
  . Publisher
  . Other software may be needed

• Previous experience in use of these programs are a plus but not a requirement.

The following functions are performed by ministry members according to their abilities and interests.

• Weekly conversion of the parish bulletin from Publisher format to .pdf format.

• Weekly Inclusion of the current bulletin and archiving of past bulletins in the web site and update of the On-line Bulletin page.

• Weekly update of the Home page to include current needs and information.

• Modification or addition of various ministry pages as needed using information from various sources. 

• General maintenance of the web site.

• Proof reading and checking on an ongoing basis.

• Special projects associated with web design and maintenance.

Ministry members communicate principally through email and membership in a private Yahoo group with an occasional meeting (no more than one per quarter). Two members are also discerned to represent the ministry on the Community Life Board. 

The parish web site is updated weekly by the
Web Ministry Team, a ministry of the 
Parish Community Life Board.
