THE VISITATION

As we contemplate the lovely picture of the Blessed Virgin Mary visiting her cousin Elizabeth, we can again thank God for the Bible. In the Bible we learned that Angel Gabriel asked Mary to be the mother of the Savior of the world and she said “Yes.” Then he told Mary that her aged cousin Elizabeth was pregnant. Mary went to visit Elizabeth immediately. The Bible tells us that when Elizabeth heard Mary’s greeting, her baby stirred in her womb for joy. Now 2,000 years later, we see one reason why The Visitation was included in the Bible. This shows us how precious unborn children are to God. He allowed an unborn child to recognize Jesus while Jesus was still an unborn child.

0 Jesus, who dwelt in the womb of Mary,
have mercy on us.
0 Jesus, who first felt human pain while in the womb,
have mercy on us.
0 Jesus, who waited nine months to be born,
grant us peace.

I beg you to spare the life of the unborn baby that I have spiritually adopted who is in danger of abortion."

The most important thing we can do to convert this Culture of Death into a people of Christ is to pray. You try to pray 15 minutes a week for Life. You choose a convenient time like 10:00 – 10:15 on Tuesdays and you pray any prayers you choose. If you call me at 429-0760, I will write your time down. Wouldn't it be wonderful if we knew the people of St. Julie were praying constantly during every minute of every week for the conversion of this world?
