• pray for them

• visit and call

• be yourself

• allow grieving

• care

• be patient

• permit anger

DON'T:

• say "you're lucky the deceased is with God"

• avoid contact

• pity

• be morose and pry for details

• repeat gossip

• be afraid, grief is not communicable

• say "I know how you feel"
