The Human
Concerns Board
WHAT THE HUMAN CONCERNS BOARD IS ALL
ABOUT
The Human Concerns Ministries seek to empower parishioners to fulfill
the social justice, ecumenical and service mission of the Church. We
focus on the needs of the poor, the disabled, the marginal and the
fragile. Our task is to assure that all people are invited to full
participation in the Church and in society. These tasks include
developing an attitude in the Church and in our society which:
-
Promotes a fundamental respect for the
dignity of all persons regardless of race, color, gender or creed.
-
Advances a social environment, which is
hospitable toward all persons, particularly the poor and the
marginalized.
-
Encourages the promotion and
preservation of human dignity and solidarity.
All of these works are accomplished for the
purpose of building the Kingdom of God as
proclaimed in the Gospel message and reflected in the theology of Vatican
II.
Our vision for the future is to continue to reach out to the sick and
homebound, the poor and bereaved, children born and unborn and adults who
have special needs. We also continue to act as intercessors of prayer for
all the needs of our parish and the world. We seek to meet these needs in
a spirit of Christian faith, rooted in prayerful spirituality and grounded
in the theology of the Catholic Church.
