If you’re even remotely considering being a catechist, you might be experiencing certain fears.....of inadequacy, lack of experience, limited knowledge, etc. Our advice to you would be: “Lighten up”......trust God and yourself. Each of us has a unique and sacred faith story to share with the children of our parish. The “call to ministry” in our faith community is actually not an option, but rather, an obligation by virtue of the call each of us received in Baptism.

All of our lives, most of us have been very blessed by role models in the faith who have given us the “tools” and “stories” to show us how to live as disciples of Jesus. Jesus’ story never changes. We are Jesus’ hands and feet and eyes and ears in the world today. We have been given the responsibility of carrying on the work of the Lord in today’s world. If we fail to teach our children about their role as disciples of Jesus, who will?
