FORMATION MINISTRIES


ADULT EDUCATION

"The faith of adults must be continually enlightened, developed, and protected, so that it may acquire that Christian wisdom which gives sense, unity, and hope to the many experiences of personal, social, and spiritual life. "

The Adult Education Ministry will sponsor another Speakers' Series thus Fall and/or Winter. Please watch for further information on dates and speakers.



BAPTISMAL PREPARATION

"As a child of God, in virtue of the gift of Baptism, the child is proclaimed by Christ to be a privileged member of the Kingdom of God.."

The ministry of Baptismal Preparation for Parents and Godparents is a welcoming ministry, which oftentimes helps a non-practicing couple return to the Church. It provides an opportunity for parents to prepare for their child's entrance into the life of the Church.


BIBLE STUDY

"The Constitution Dei Verbum of the Second Vatican Council emphasizes the fundamental importance of Sacred Scripture in the Church's life. Catechesis will be as rich and as effective only to the extent that Scripture is read with the mind and heart of the Church. "

St. Julie Bible Study groups meet regularly and use materials developed and updated by the diocese of Little Rock and the Liturgical Press. Please note the dates and times of these sessions in the Parish Bulletin


RELIGIOUS EDUCATION

"Students have the right to learn with truth and certainty the froth to which they belong. This right to know Christ and It, salvific message cannot be neglected "

Each year, the Religious Education Program needs to replenish its numbers of catechists at all grade levels. If you enjoy children/young people, have a sense of humor, and want to share your faith, you are cordially invited to call the Religious Education Office and receive more information about this special ministry.


SPRED

"Every Christian community considers those who suffer handicaps, physical or mental, as well as other forms of disability, as persons particularly beloved of the Lord."

SPRED is a catechetical program for developmentally disabled adults age 22 and over who are welcomed into the Christian community by catechises in air atmosphere of peace- love, and joy. The qualifications for being a SPRED Catechist are that one be a responsible laving adult who is willing to share his or her faith with all, very special friends.
